Job Title: Senior Data Handling Subsystem Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Handling Subsystem Engineer to join our team at Thales Alenia Space. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data handling subsystems for our space missions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop data handling subsystems, including on-board computers, remote terminal units, and mass memory units.
  • Specify and design electrical and communications interfaces.
  • Develop on-board communication protocols, including MIL1553 Bus, CAN Bus, SpaceWire, and TTEthernet.
  • Procure data handling subsystems and units from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Define and specify data handling test benches for validation.
  • Support system assembly, integration, and test activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met and non-compliances are resolved.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in data handling subsystem design or testing.
  • Expert knowledge of avionics architecture and multicore space qualified microprocessors.
  • Proficient knowledge of programming languages, including C, C++, and Python.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems, VHDL, and FPGA synthesis tools.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
