Overview

Synopsys is seeking a highly skilled Senior ASIC Physical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our digital implementation organization, you will be responsible for the physical implementation of complex IPs and test-chips across multiple process technologies with a focus on advanced high-speed SERDES platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive all aspects of physical implementation from RTL to GDSII, including timing and physical sign-off.
  • Collaborate with multiple functional groups, including front-end digital, analog design and layout, and CAD.
  • Develop timing constraints and design architectures to ensure on-time delivery and meet or exceed power and area targets.
  • Work closely with the product team to deliver high-quality IP solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of digital or physical design experience with recent contribution to project tape-outs.
  • Intimate understanding of the full design cycle from RTL to GDSII.
  • Experience with advanced FinFET nodes, TSMC 16 nanometer or below.
  • Solid engineering understanding of digital design and architecture, implementation flows, and physical and timing signoff.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to think and communicate at different levels of abstraction.
  • Methodology-guided with excellent software and scripting skills (Perl, Tcl, Python).
  • Solid understanding of the challenges inherent in analog/digital interfaces.
  • Autonomous and able to cope with interrupts.

Education and Experience

  • MSEE and 8+ years or BSEE and 10+ years.
  • Previous project leadership experience.
  • Solid understanding of digital/mixed signal verification flows and SOC integration challenges.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
