Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Underwriter to join our team at MSig Insurance Europe Ag. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business in accordance with our company's standards, processes, rules, and principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk analysis and rating tool/premium calculation to ensure accurate underwriting decisions.
- Compile data for referrals and prepare tenders for new business opportunities.
- Negotiate wordings and bind new business while preparing relevant information for the Underwriting Assistant's Department.
- Participate in meetings and individual appointments with clients to discuss underwriting decisions and provide proposals.
- Monitor the portfolio for commercial requirements and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Adapt underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and pricing policy to ensure optimal business outcomes.
- Determine reinsurance requirements in collaboration with the Head of Property and Claims Department.
- Support the Head of Property and Underwriters in all relevant activities.
- Plan business development and expand new and existing business opportunities.
- Provide an efficient service to clients and brokers.
- Participate in strategy discussions and contribute to the development of new products.
Requirements
- Engineering, Business Economics, or Law degree.
- Several years of professional experience in underwriting or handling property business.
- Experience in Power and Utilities operational business, including renewable energies, is a plus.
- High analytical and systematic thinking skills.
- Self-motivation and resilience.
- Ability to work under pressure and cooperate with the team.
- Good organizational skills and decision-making capability.
- Confident handling of common MS Office applications.
- Good knowledge of English language.
