Job Summary:

Cavotec is a leading cleantech company that designs and delivers connection and electrification solutions to enable the decarbonization of ports and industrial applications. We are seeking a skilled Global Category Manager for Cables to join our team.

The Role:

  • Develop and execute a sourcing strategy for the Cable category globally to optimize total cost and lead time, leveraging the volume of different CoE's.
  • Coordinate sourcing activities with Strategic Buyers at the CoE's for the Cable category, leading major negotiations with cable suppliers globally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify CoE's supply chain and project needs, participate in negotiations of contracts and terms with cable suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing and lead time, quality standards, and service level agreements.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for cost improvement and innovations.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ESH, regulatory, and company standards, market required certifications in supplier selection, contracting, and ongoing management.
  • Identify new suppliers, evaluate current supplier performance, and make supplier risk assessments.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and lead the development of new suppliers and related sourcing activities for the global Cable category.
  • Run global RFQs and support project teams with best-cost cable solutions to win projects.

Requirements:

  • Well-rounded with commercial experience and an Engineer BA (or above) background.
  • Experience working for a global international company.
  • Major in Mechanical/Electrical engineering is preferred.
  • 10-15 years or above professional experience in sourcing, category management.
  • Global business/market savings for the cable industry.
  • Proven track records in managing global supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and delivery savings within global companies.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global team environment.
  • Keep up-to-date with global material trends.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Familiar with supplier evaluation and selection methodologies, including risk assessment and performance management.
  • Good knowledge of sourcing best practices, sourcing processes, and supply chain management principles.
