Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Vado-Ligure, Italy. As a key member of our Services Locomotive Europe (SLE) organization, you will be responsible for supporting local Field Maintenance Engineers in Corrective & Preventive Maintenance related to maintenance projects on fleets of railway vehicles.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the maintenance regime of rolling stock fleets.
  • Collect and analyze in-service field data, including failure data and other maintenance-related information, in accordance with Alstom procedures and tools.
  • Ensure accurate collection and timely availability of maintenance labour and material cost-related data for Project Management and Procurement teams.
  • Provide reliable and consistent RAMS&LCC information to Fleet Engineering for opportunity analysis and preparation of new FM offers/bids.
  • Proactively contribute to achieving contractual RAMS&LCC performances throughout the contract duration, including failure mode analysis and critical system identification.
  • Support local teams in MMS setup, operation, and troubleshooting, sharing relevant information from other Alstom organizations.
  • Act as a FRACAS facilitator in FM Projects' Core Teams.
  • Monitor proper management of vehicle configurations during data collection and technical support.
  • Support all engineering work related to projects, including technical issues related to maintenance, corrective, preventive, and overhauls.
  • Identify and resolve fleet or product improvement limitations by addressing issues to relevant functions and following implementation, including interfaces with system engineers (Alstom and Suppliers).
  • Provide systematic inputs on operation performance improvement, Life Cycle Cost management, and technical clearance.
  • Contribute to implementing and validating prognostic algorithms to identify the health of critical systems and promote Condition-Based Maintenance strategies.
  • Offer technical support and expertise to Procurement on spares, services, and facilities, including external Supplier support when required.
  • Work to optimize the maintenance plan based on field experience collected from all countries/projects.
  • Interact with Fleet Engineering, Services Division, and other Alstom departments at various levels, such as workshops, trainings, expertise networking, and exchange of best practices.
  • Liaise with the broader BT engineering community to collect RAMS&LCC benchmark figures relevant to new opportunities/bids/offers/projects.
  • Support local teams in preparing, submitting, and negotiating FM offers/bids to customers, focusing on maintenance regimes/plans and RAMS&LCC performances.
  • Proactively define and manage AT interdivisional agreements concerning share of responsibilities amongst other AT Divisions during joint execution of new vehicles and FM supply.
  • Support local teams in preparing and discussing necessary documents required by Alstom Bid Governance.
  • Support the Bid team in obtaining required documentation for maintenance offers (FM bids/offers), liaising directly with Product Family and Product Engineering, and managing delivery of useful Services data to local teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent cultural background.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Maintenance and/or Project Engineer roles, with senior-level technical and operational experience in a similar position, ideally in the railway industry. Knowledge of railway field would be highly valuable.
  • Required experience with industrial engineering, maintenance projects, or vehicles fleet management, along with customer requirements handling, support to manufacturing and operations, interface with other departments, and offer preparation.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently on complex tasks in interdisciplinary environments.
  • Fluent Italian and English skills are mandatory; German would be an asset.
