Job Description

The General Accountant plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of the hotel's operations, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cost Control: Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities to optimize resources and improve profitability.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies to minimize the risk of penalties or legal issues.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner, and prepare accruals of service and Prepaid Schedules on a monthly basis.
  • Financial Analysis & Operational Support: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations to management as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
