Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to join our team in Florence. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end processes for the hotel, ensuring accurate and timely closure of the books.
  • Manage the financial day-to-day operations, including revenue processing, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Develop and implement financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow.
  • Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures.
  • Support business partners in building accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Reconcile revenues between systems and investigate any variances.
  • Manage procurement platform, including PO approval and margin performance analysis.
  • Produce robust cash flow forecasts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheets.
  • Ensure timely completion of external audits and provide necessary information.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting on operational performance.
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget adherence.
  • Participate in strategic planning and provide financial input for business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Finalist or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Understanding of daily, weekly, and monthly finance and operating procedures in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Food and Beverage procurement systems, and Epos systems.
  • Confident communicator, able to translate financial information to non-finance people.
