Head of OEM Partnerships

Canonical, a pioneering tech firm leading the global shift to open source, is seeking a seasoned professional to drive strategic partnerships with major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs). As the Head of OEM Partnerships, you will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with key partners, growing their awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical's Ubuntu platform, and negotiating contracts and commercial business terms.
Key Responsibilities- Build Strategic Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with IHV partners at all levels, ensuring alignment on strategy and execution.
- Grow Partner Awareness: Educate partners on the benefits of open source and Ubuntu, and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Negotiate Contracts: Collaborate with partners to negotiate contracts and commercial business terms, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Lead Partnerships: Lead partnerships with global accounts, including IBM, Samsung, DellEMC, HPE, Nokia, and others, driving business growth and revenue.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with marketing, sales engineering, and product management teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment.
- Deliver Results: Meet targets, objectives, and advocate for partners, driving business growth and revenue.
- Travel and Engagements: Travel regularly, sometimes internationally, to drive partnerships in person and lead executive engagements between IHV and Canonical leadership.
- Experience: Proven experience in alliance or indirect sales management roles, with a strong track record of driving business growth and revenue.
- Autonomy and Discipline: Autonomous, disciplined, and hands-on, with a get-it-done mentality.
- Customer Focus: Ability to capture customer requirements, evaluate gaps, and identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Passion for Ubuntu: Passionate about Ubuntu products and mission, with a deep understanding of the Linux and cloud software ecosystem.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with partners, teams, and stakeholders.
