About the Role

Burberry Limited is seeking a skilled Raw Material Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for assisting with the procurement of raw materials, specifically trims, to achieve and exceed financial goals and functional quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing and procurement, with experience working with large technically qualified teams. You will be responsible for maintaining collaborative partnerships with suppliers, ensuring effective procurement and query resolution, timely two-way communications, feedback on performance, and highlighting risk/opportunity mitigation/creation in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain collaborative partnerships with suppliers to ensure effective procurement and query resolution.
  • Escalate emerging risks to the Manager for resolution.
  • Drive and execute the placement of raw material activities in line with the procurement critical path.
  • Support the consolidation and placement of raw materials across the supplier base, focusing on data quality and format.
  • Assist in optimizing order management, capacity management, and excess management.
  • Track and monitor timely raw material/trim procurement deliveries in line with allocation and priority.
  • Ensure relevant payments are issued to suppliers by issuing Purchase Orders and managing invoicing with internal accounts.
  • Implement excess management relating activities with suppliers, including destruction, recycling, donation, and resell.
  • Assist in coordinating the seasonal/annual review of excess, establishing reasons, and suggesting improvement areas for mitigating risk.
  • Participate in reviewing supplier performance management feedback and suggesting appropriate response mechanisms and actions in accordance with guidance from the Manager.
  • Be responsible for the effective use of systems and maintenance and accuracy of data.
  • Manage excess raw material stock payments.
Requirements
  • Textile Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant technical degree.
  • Previous working experience in sourcing/procurement.
  • Ideal experience with trim/textile manufacturing.
  • Proven experience working with large technically qualified teams.
  • Experience with negotiation, sourcing, and procurement activities.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English.
