About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Data Steward to join our team at The European Food Safety Authority. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of our scientific data.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Collection and Validation: Collaborate with data providers, statisticians, and researchers to collect, collate, and validate data from various sources, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose for our risk assessment and decision-making processes.
  2. Data Governance and Stewardship: Develop and implement data governance best practices, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize data management and analysis software to extract insights from complex data sets, providing actionable recommendations to support our risk assessment and decision-making processes.
  4. Project Management: Manage specific projects from inception to delivery, ensuring timely completion, and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  5. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise guidance on data preparation, collection, and use.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in data collection, validation, and analysis.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data stewardship, and data quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of data management and analysis software, including statistical software and programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
