Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Group Head of Sustainability, the Sustainability and Social Impact Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the sustainability strategy of Italgas Group. This role emphasizes the importance of social impacts and human rights within our operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments and subsidiaries to ensure alignment with the Sustainable Value Creation Plan, adhering to both national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will encompass:


• Keeping abreast of emerging trends in sustainability, including best practices and evaluation models, to assess their relevance to the Group and its value chain.

• Identifying new avenues for implementing sustainability best practices.

• Aiding in the achievement of objectives outlined in Italgas' Sustainable Value Creation Plan.

• Overseeing and facilitating environmental and social initiatives at both corporate and local levels, enhancing the social value of various projects.

• Collecting and monitoring non-financial reporting data, while staying updated on regulatory and corporate trends.

• Acting as a primary liaison with Group Companies and other departments, including Investor Relations, Strategy, and Compliance.

• Enhancing Italgas' performance in key sustainability indices by managing data collection and presenting findings.

• Supporting the external assurance process for non-financial reporting, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.

• Regularly monitoring sustainability KPIs and reporting on performance to senior management.

• Assisting in the implementation of social programs, ensuring involvement from the supply chain.

• Gaining insights into the regulatory landscape regarding social issues and human rights at an international level.

• Engaging with stakeholders, both internal and external, to promote the integration of social topics across all business areas.

• Developing guiding principles and policies related to social issues, including human rights.

• Collaborating with external partners on joint sustainability initiatives.

• Analyzing the social impacts of Group activities, including sponsorships and donations.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:


• A Master's degree or equivalent in Environmental Engineering, Social Science, Management, Renewable Energy, or Sustainability.

• A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in sustainability and social issues at a corporate level or in consulting.

• Strong knowledge of industry standards or relevant experience in regulated sectors.

• In-depth understanding of sustainability reporting and direct experience managing sustainability topics.

• Significant expertise in non-financial reporting and developing ESG reporting programs.

• Proven experience in evaluating sustainability impacts and conducting ESG Due Diligence.

• Familiarity with stakeholder engagement and materiality analysis.

• Comprehensive knowledge of corporate reporting standards related to ESG.

• Solid understanding of social issues and human rights within a corporate context.

• Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting tools.

• Excellent project management skills, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in English.
