Job Title: Buyer (FTC)

Company: Alstom Gruppe

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to join our team at Alstom Gruppe. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for deploying commodity strategies, ensuring project execution in line with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives, and piloting local contractual relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project and Business Needs Identification: Identify project and business needs to ensure effective commodity management.
  2. Request for Quotation Preparation and Launch: Prepare and launch Request for Quotation with suppliers using standard tools.
  3. Negotiation of Cost Reduction: Negotiate cost reduction with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.
  4. Order Placement Inputs: Provide inputs for order placement to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  5. QCD Targets Achievement: Ensure QCD targets are achieved, and CONQ (Cost Of Non Quality) and claims management are effectively managed.
  6. Supplier QCD Performance Reviews: Lead supplier QCD performance reviews to ensure compliance with company standards.
  7. Issue Management: Manage initial issues before escalation to line manager.
  8. Code of Ethics and Guidelines: Respect Alstom Transport code of ethics and guidelines.

Commodity Support on Site:

  1. Commodity Needs Consolidation: Consolidate commodity needs to ensure effective supply chain management.
  2. Commodity Strategy and Panel Elaboration: Actively participate in commodity strategy and panel elaboration to optimize procurement processes.
  3. Tender Phase Support: Support the Commodity Manager in the tender phase to ensure effective procurement processes.
  4. Representation of Commodities: Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms, and solutions to ensure effective communication.
  5. Effective Teamwork: Apply effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem-solving to ensure successful project execution.
  6. Alstom Sourcing Processes: Apply Alstom Sourcing processes and provide return on experience to optimize procurement processes.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Buyer Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Installations Activities Environment Knowledge: Must have knowledge of installations activities environment.
  • Signaling and Infrastructure/Civil Works Experience: Experience in Signaling and Infrastructure/Civil works companies is highly valued.
  • Business School or Engineering Degree: Must have a Business school or Engineering degree.
  • Fluent English and International Background: Must have fluent English and international background.
  • Good Interpersonal Skills: Must have good interpersonal skills.
