In this capacity, the Director of Product Management will assume comprehensive accountability for developing a successful product portfolio and fostering profitable growth in the region. This role involves overseeing a team of product managers and collaborating closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing departments.
Core Functions
Product Management and Marketing
- Manage the complete product portfolio and drive business outcomes for the BAS & Controls division in Europe.
- Analyze regional market dynamics, customer requirements, and competitive factors to curate a successful product lineup.
- Collaborate with Engineering to innovate new products tailored to local market needs.
- Foster local partnerships and pursue M&A opportunities to expedite growth.
- Conduct regular competitive assessments and benchmarking activities.
- Establish effective business models and pricing strategies to enhance growth, including periodic evaluations of wins and losses.
- Act as the primary advocate for resolving product-related challenges.
Strategic Development and Sales Support
- Work in tandem with regional sales, marketing, and operations teams to formulate and implement go-to-market strategies, including channel approaches and partnerships.
- Execute market segmentation initiatives to devise targeted strategies and articulate specific value propositions.
- Lead product launches within the region, defining and monitoring KPIs aligned with business objectives while addressing any discrepancies in regional initiatives.
- Equip sales teams to effectively promote product portfolios through marketing initiatives, account strategies, training, and resource development.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and nurture talent to build a high-performing team in the region.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, including 5-7 years in product/service management and team leadership.
- Experience in business partnerships and M&A is advantageous.
- Proven ability to meet financial and business commitments, identifying solutions to bridge any gaps.
- Strong understanding of various business models, including subscription and service delivery.
- Insight into strategic and market levers essential for crafting successful growth strategies.
- Capacity to leverage industry knowledge to drive change and set industry standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, utilizing data and scenario planning tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of value pricing and total cost of ownership considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize strategic initiatives and make decisive choices.
- Strong voice of the customer (VOC) skills, focusing on customer experiences to inform business decisions.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
