Job Title: Public Policy Manager, Italy and Greece

Meta is seeking a seasoned public policy professional to join our team in Rome, Italy, and support our efforts in Italy and Greece.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the political and regulatory dynamics in Italy and Greece, as well as a passion for internet services and social networks.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategy Development: Support the development and execution of strategies to achieve company goals in public policy in Italy and Greece.
  • Legislative Monitoring: Monitor legislation and regulatory matters affecting Meta in Italy and Greece and advise the company with respect to policy challenges.
  • Public Policy Positions: Develop public policy positions with other team members at Meta.
  • Coalition Building: Help build coalitions with other organizations to advance policy goals of Meta.
  • Trade Organizations: Advance Meta's work within trade organizations.
  • Communications: Communicate Meta's positions in closed-door events.
  • Policy Guidance: Advise Meta teams on public policy matters to guide development of products, services, and policies.
Requirements:
  • Education: A degree or advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: Significant experience working on relevant policy issues, with candidates having both government/politics and industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Language: Full fluency in Italian and English is required.
  • Skills: Familiarity with working with politicians and government officials, including those at the most senior levels, is essential.
  • Passion: A passionate belief in the social benefits of the Internet and Meta is required.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for both small meetings and large events are necessary.
  • Flexibility: A flexible mindset that thrives in a fast-moving environment with a strong do-it-yourself culture is required.
  • Writing Skills: A track record of writing and delivering position papers, articles, speeches, and presentations on relevant topics is essential.
