About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. in Italy. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable profitable sales and market share growth by identifying customer needs and opportunities, establishing solid customer relationships, and promoting relevant solutions aligned with our corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, including key decision-makers and influencers.
  2. Contribute to commercial negotiations, including core listing, annual pricing, payment terms, and rebates/cost savings agreements.
  3. Maximize potential advantages for IFF while delivering optimal solutions to customers.
  4. Ensure customer supply chain requirements, processes, and KPIs are well communicated to IFF Operations.
  5. Lead projects through effective communication and collaboration with key external and internal stakeholders.
  6. Ensure objectives are aligned to the business and personal development plans are in place.
  7. Build and execute account plans successfully.
  8. Responsible for setting clear commercial targets with the manager and achieving new wins, growing market share aligned with account strategic plans.
  9. Ensure accurate monthly sales forecasts to allow for effective operations planning and financial analysis.
  10. Conduct retrospective reviews on projects wins and losses.
  11. Influence customer brief definition to IFF's advantage.
  12. Effectively promote the most appropriate IFF product solutions/portfolio aligned with the brief.
  13. Update Project Management System and issue adoption report in a timely manner.
  14. Defend and grow accounts while actively scouting for new customers, transforming leads into profitable business opportunities.
  15. Implement price increases in line with country/region strategy.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with approximately 5-10 years of experience in sales of ingredients for the food industry, ideally with experience and knowledge of the Italian bakery market and main market players. A strong track record at a similar level with a passion to succeed in commercial is essential. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a concentration in Food Engineering Business, Chemistry, or Biology Marketing is preferred. Fluency in business English with a global mindset and ability to work with different cultures is a must.
