About the Job

As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the completion and management of maintenance activities of our products through performing and supporting on-site activities in partnership with the business, customer, and contractors in line with the site programme.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform mechanical activities and carry out engineering modifications (hardware) to ensure the customer plant performs to specification.
  2. Perform specialist troubleshooting activities worldwide, site surveys to provide detailed reports from the basis of design plans for modification and upgrades, handling subcontractors, daily site report preparation, and on-time submission of field reports and associated documents after completion or site demobilizations.
  3. Review complex plans, drawings, and schematics and provide continual guidance throughout the task duration. Collaborate with the project manager and project engineer (where applicable) to ensure commercial position is safeguarded during mechanical activity.
  4. Represent the company during formal customer briefing/de-briefing meetings to update the customer on mechanical progress, again safeguarding the interests of the company.
  5. Provide onsite training to less experienced field service engineers, update knowledge on new products and vendor equipment, and assist in developing commissioning procedures. Also, guide the training of customer operators in the maintenance of complex equipment.
  6. Take full responsibility for Environmental and H&S when on site and ensure control measures are in place in the field, ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by following all safe work practices, policies, and processes and report all near misses and incidents.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated ability (at least 3 years) in delivering service products to the customer in an operating environment within the Oil and Gas Market.
  2. Broad Gas Turbine product knowledge (core, package, and controls) preferably in a hands-on capacity.
  3. Willingness to regular travel and work worldwide around 80% of the time and to be away from home for periods of time at the minimum notice.
  4. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office IT systems.
  5. Able to work on weekends and bank holidays if required, including shift work, based on project requirements. Our team is required to participate in the 24/7 support when required.
  6. Proficient in English and Italian.
  7. Great Teammate with excellent communication and team-working skills and with excellent customer focus and influential too, taking charge of teams in different countries – so you'll be culturally aware as well.
  8. High commitment with our Zero-Harm culture.
  9. Ability to perform well with limited supervision and under pressure/time constraints.
