About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in Italy. As a key member of our tax function, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations, monitoring and implementing legislative changes.
  • Support with annual statutory audit for material tax items.
  • Review and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Act as internal tax advisor in complex tax matters for the Tax Operations team.
  • Identify country tax planning opportunities and pursue available incentives in relation to new investment, R&D, Capex, etc.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, proposing mitigation measures and implementing with the support of Tax Practice teams where required.
  • Advise on cash repatriation matters, reduction of share capital, or capital increase.
  • Analyse potential tax implications for transactions and business projects, including cross-border projects, reorganization projects, new investments, ERP migration, etc.
  • Provide Income Tax, WHT, and VAT-related advice to Business colleagues in Italy and ABB tax colleagues in relation to bidding and projects in Italy.
  • Ensure transfer pricing guidance is properly followed, ensuring country transfer pricing documentation is in place and country-specific compliance requirements are fulfilled.
  • Liaise with Tax Authorities as required, managing tax audits and disputes for taxes in scope of CF-TA accountability.
  • Be involved in M&A projects, supporting Legal Entity Management (LEM) initiatives, including simplification and/or exit and/or closure of Business Operating Accounts (BoAs).
  • Oversee all income tax accounting and reporting activities, ensuring correct tax numbers and disclosures in quarterly and annual reports.
  • Sign-off FIN48/FIN14 assessments, perform tax reconciliation for the 5 Quarters Rolling Forecast (5QRFC) process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax procedures, ensuring compliance with internal controls and sign-off assurance letter.
  • Deliver training to key internal stakeholders.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in tax area (direct and/or indirect tax).
  • Passionate about leading a team to drive results.
  • Captivated by fast-moving environments with complex global business models.
  • Innovative around building consensus across the organization on tax strategies.
  • At ease communicating in English and Italian.
