As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering solutions that optimize order fulfillment and last mile delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a deep understanding of mechanical engineering requirements for each project
- Study and become familiar with elementary system drawings, conveyor manifests, and equipment knowledge
- Estimate engineering hours and provide technical interface with customers
- Define project scope, review 3D models, and conduct system-level reviews
- Identify and resolve equipment and installation issues, and execute mechanical change orders
- Mentor and navigate issues with less experienced Project Engineers
- Prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a thorough grasp of project contract documents
- Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors
- Host weekly meetings with project team members and customers
- Delegate tasks and monitor progress
- Assist with ordering long lead items and maintain project-specific requirements
- Communicate project information with other departments and release drawings for installation and fabrication
- Relate changes to scope of work and communicate status updates to engineering management
- Identify areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements, and enhanced customer service
- 6-10 years of experience in material handling equipment, preferably in the conveyor systems industry
- Experience with executing and supporting multiple mid to large projects
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design
Some international travel required, approximately 15% of the time, depending on project needs and urgency.
