About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior R&D Manager Bakery to join our team at Puratos. As a key member of our R&D Country Team, you will work closely with our R&D Country Manager and Sales & Marketing team to provide technical support to customers and develop innovative bakery products.
Main Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, promoting a co-creation approach through regular visits and collaboration with our Key Account Managers.
Work with our Business Development Team to define and implement a comprehensive R&D Bakery strategy, ensuring technical support for all channels.
Lead and guide our local R&D SBU Bakery team, developing each team member and achieving defined objectives.
Promote effective collaboration between the R&D SBU Bakery team and other company functions, including Operations & QA.
Ensure compliance with BRC certification documentation for the Business unit.
Monitor and evaluate new bakery ingredients and technologies available on the market.
Manage the local R&D Bakery innovation funnel, ensuring its constant renewal and timely execution.
Define and monitor R&D Bakery KPIs.
Ensure the accuracy of technical data related to bakery products, maintaining confidentiality of formulas and know-how.
Implement digital tools for project and customer management.
Key Deliverables
Lead bakery product and technology innovation, promoting and implementing local innovations.
Develop, adapt, and improve bakery products, modifying current recipes using new ingredients, alternative raw materials, and suppliers.
Manage projects and formulas/recipes.
Support Operations & QA/QC team.
Build benchmarks at local and global levels.
Create and maintain excellence in Customer Technical Support from the SBU Bakery perspective.
Ensure active collaboration with our HQ Bakery R&D structure.
Establish and maintain relationships with universities and research laboratories.
Background & Skills
- At least 8-10 years of experience in R&D roles, preferably in food companies with local production.
- Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to define and implement an R&D Bakery strategy based on business priorities/goals.
- Ability to interact with all levels and functions within an organization, developing constructive and professional relationships and facilitating changes by influencing others.
- People leadership experience and ability to work with diverse styles and cultures.
