Purpose Of The Role As a DevOps Engineer you will play a pivotal role in implementing CI/CD platforms and solutions for various products. You will work closely with software engineering teams to set up and fine tune CI/CD pipelines and contribute to developing CI/CD platforms as a stretch goal. Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the company products and services run with utmost efficiency and meet promised SLOs and SLAs. Ensure SRE principles are adopted to steer reliability, performance and security of applications, services, and systems. Work with software engineering teams in applying DevOps practices for development, deployment, and release of products (code). Understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and projects. Be flexible to be on‑call in a 24x7 rotating shift with a team size of 3-4 engineers. Identify redundant/repetitive tasks and automate them. Adapt and improve visibility of CI/CD processes, removing bottlenecks. Be proficient with Ansible to automate IT infrastructure for application deployment. Continuously look for vulnerabilities, providing testing and monitoring. Work closely with developers, product and IT teams to understand production systems. Build better applications and infrastructure for rapid incident response. Conduct ongoing research on best practices and solutioning for robust applications. Solutioning server configuration management. Oversee release management of the product. Plan, schedule and control the deployment process. Coordinate with development team for faster and seamless release. Keep stakeholders informed throughout deployment phases.Key Skills & Competencies4-8 years of experience and proven expertise in DevOps and SRE domains. Strong knowledge of technology architecture for large‑scale Internet systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills; can articulate well to managers and engineers. Proficiency in at least two cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience with SLOs, metrics, health checks, error budgets, distributed tracing; tools like New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK. Proficiency in deploying/configuring Linux packages and package management tools (yum, apt, rpm). Experience with CI/CD pipelines for DevOps initiatives. Infrastructure automation using Terraform and Pulumi. Proficient with microservices, APIs, serverless architectures (Borg and Kubernetes). Experience with configuration management (Puppet/Chef/Ansible). Automation mindset using programming languages such as Python, Java, Shell.Personal ProfileCollaborative spirit; CI/CD or product organization experience a plus. Clear communicator, confident, self‑sufficient, focused, and determined. Knows when to escalate versus owning and resolving issues. Well organized and consistently meets commitments. Strong commitment to achieve the success of Tata Communications and its communities. Strong problem solving, diplomacy and influencing skills.
