Mainframe Solutions Specialist, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Mainframe technologies (e.g., Cobol, VSAM, JCL, DB2), their architecture, and infrastructure needs.
- Experience delivering and implementing migration strategies for clients.
- Experience as a technical sales engineer in cloud computing environments or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments.
- Experience in infrastructure modernization, such as it relates to Big Data trends and issues within businesses.
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and share talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
- Solid verbal, written, presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.

**About the job**:
As a Mainframe Solutions Specialist, you will bring your experience and thought leadership to guide the plan, mission, and strategy around Mainframe-to-Google Cloud Product solutions. You will engage directly with our customers to facilitate business transformation, map success patterns, publish assets to scale your knowledge, and persuade investment in Google Cloud. You will develop materials to support solutions initiatives with a broad cross-functional group of stakeholders.

You will help ensure technical and commercial readiness of these solutions, including assets to enable the Go-to-Market teams, and provide field feedback to the Product and Engineering teams to help shape product direction. You will interface directly with customers both helping them understand mainframe migrations to Google Cloud Products and gather their feedback. Finally, you will enable the Sales team and counsel partners on the best way to position Mainframe-to-Google Cloud Product solutions, explain technical features, and problem-solve potential roadblocks on Google Cloud.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the technical evaluation process with Google’s customers for Mainframe-to-Google Cloud Product technical business cycles, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work and the coordination of any additional technical resources.
- Identify and qualify business opportunities and key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
- Partner closely with Engineering directors, Product leaders, Sales strategy, and executive leadership to ensure solutions alignment with Engineering, product priorities, and Go-to-Market priorities.
- Manage relationships with Sales leadership across verticals and regions and set priorities on business agreement coverage.
