**Job Description**:
**What’s it all about?**

Reporting to the Country Manager of Italy, the Sales Director is responsible for developing and delivering sales to Financial Institutions. Meeting scorecard targets - sales and revenues mix, NPS, overall performance - driving effective account and people management.

The Sales Director needs to drive strategy execution, build high quality relationships with key external/internal stakeholders and collaborate to build support of cross functional teams. She/he must be passionate about sales and the payment industry.** **Commercial acumen and an excellent understanding of the broader market landscape will be critical to this appointment.

**What we expect of you, day to day.**
- Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Work with other Italy Sales Directors in championing the development of strategy and execution of key business initiatives in Italy, including market expansion, new revenues streams, payment product and solutions development and innovation.
- Identify success factors for growth, develop tactical plans to achieve defined goals, and design and implement effective client relationship and business development strategies.
- Identify and prioritize new business opportunities in market and determine the appropriate level of resource investment to pursue effectively.
- Client and Stakeholder Partnerships
- Develop, cultivate and maintain close relationships with client management teams, decision-makers and other influencers.
- Understand clients’ unique strategies, priorities, needs and decision making processes and adapt Visa’s approach to dealing with each client appropriately.
- Lead local client engagements, including the design, negotiation and successful signing of long-term partnership agreements; manage the client relationship team to achieve agreed corporate objectives.
- People Leadership and Management
- Driving effective leadership through leading and coaching a team in developing and ensuring implementation of team goals aligned with the country goals and the functional goals.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure they are fully aligned and briefed about clients’ and business partners’ environment; ensure that client plans for the market are developed in conjunction with, and shared by the supporting functions within Visa
- This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office _**_3 set days a week_**_ (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs._

**Qualifications**:
For this role the key skills required are...
- Passionate about sales
- Deep sales and client relationship management experience, including setting strategic direction and leadership experience in highly successful businesses. Successful track record of client service, strategic development and execution.
- Extensive experience in either banking/financial services sector or Technology / Fintech sector experience. Deep knowledge of payment industry products on both consumer and commercial products and solutions.
- Excellent leadership skills within a complex matrix organisation. Cultural sensitivity and global mindset. Deep market knowledge and insight.
- Excellent communication and people management skills. Fluency in Italian and English are essential
- Stature, gravitas, reputation and professional attitude. Courageous and accountable.
