FOR SHORT-TERM/CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS

DUTY STATION (City, Country): HQ Rome, Italy
DURATION: 6 months

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
The HR Technology and Analytics Branch - HRMOI is responsible for on-going support to critical HR operational processes through the appropriate provision and application of information, processes and enabling technologies. It is also responsible for the developing of the HR Division Technology strategy and roadmap that will support integrated talent management processes, enable full visibility into our global workforce by deploying a technology solution that integrates people processes, data and intelligence from corporate and satellite systems and databases, and will provide workforce analytics and tools to support evidence-based decision making across people-related processes (in particular workforce planning, recruitment, reassignment and deployment to emergencies).

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Organization Management Lead, this role will support the coordinated review of WFP's Org structure, using Workday's visual organization design functions. In particular:

• Collaborate with the Org Review Team and engage with Regional Director Officer, Country Offices, and Divisional focal points to map and digitalize offline organization charts, including identification of supervisory roles.
• Ensure organizational structures comply with corporate guidelines.
• Assist in extracting and creating load files for the legacy SAP system.
• Conduct data cleansing and verification activities.
• Prepare, report, and analyze organizational and position data.
• Support the Organization Management Lead in coordinating tasks with HQ Divisions and Regional/Country Office colleagues.
• Contribute to job aid and training material development, training delivery, and other change management activities related to Org and Position Management.
• Provide customer support via Workday case management on positions and organizational management.
• Perform other related duties as required.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

• Organization Structures in Workday reflect operational reality of Country Office and Divisions, signed off by relevant management;
• Data is clean and maintained according to guidelines and SOPs;
• Bulk update formats filled for load of Org to SAP;
• Org structures loaded to SAP checked for consistency and alignment with Workday.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Advanced University degree in Computer Science, Human Resources Management or Business Administration.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of postgraduate relevant experience in HR Information system maintenance and support, with preferably experience in an international context;
• Experience in the analysis of complex data;
• Experience with Organizational Structure data an asset.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to work and deliver results in a complex organizational environment (diverse team, matrix structure, highly evolving operational context and staff working hardship locations);
• Strong analytical sills and business acumen;
• Problem-solving aptitude;
• Excellent communication skills and understanding of working with different cultures;
• Knowledge of talent management solutions;
• Proactive and willing to propose enhancements;
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and/or any data visualization tool.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English with an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese (one of WFP's working languages).
