Location:Rome, ItalyContract:FreelanceStart Date:To be confirmedReporting to:Operations ManagerAbout Carpe Diem ToursCarpe Diem Tours is an international tour operator known for delivering high-quality, experience-driven tours led by passionate local experts.As our Rome operations continue to grow, we are expanding our leadership team and are looking forDestination Managerswho combine outstanding guiding skills with strong operational and people leadership.This role is ideal for experienced guides who want to stay active in the field while also taking ownership of a product line and helping shape the guest and team experience in Rome.The RoleAs a Destination Manager, You will act as both aleader and an active guide.You will be responsible for the quality, performance, and day-to-day operations of one of our Rome product lines, while continuing to deliver tours yourself.EachDestination Managercompletes3 tours or classes per week(approx. 12 per month) and serves as a role model for guiding excellence.Available SpecialisationsWalking & Colosseum ToursFood & Tipsy ToursCooking ClassesCompensation & WorkloadCompensation combines afixed monthly administrative feewithflat-rate payment per event(not hourly).Indicative monthly earnings:Walking & Colosseum:approx.€1,880Food & Tipsy Tours:approx.€2,180Cooking Classes:approx.€2,100Role-Specific Focus1) Walking & Colosseum ToursHigh-volume logistics and schedulingOversight of check-in staff and radio equipment2) Food & Tipsy ToursManaging restaurant and bar partnershipsMenu quality control and coordination of hosts and guides3) Cooking ClassesOversight of the culinary schoolManaging chefs and hostsSupporting branded merchandise salesKey ResponsibilitesDeliver tours with consistently excellent guest feedback (target 4.9? rating)Coach and support guides through regular feedback and auditsRecruit, onboard, and train new team membersMaintain close communication with the Operations Manager on quality, partners, and team performanceRequirementsProven experience as a high-performing guide in Rome (history, food, or culinary focus)Strong leadership mindset and sense of ownershipHigh-level Italian required for at least one of the roles(partner and vendor communication)Availability to work evenings and weekendsProfessional, reliable, and guest-focused approachHow to ApplyIf you're excited about leading a team while staying hands-on in the field, please apply via the link below and clearly indicatewhich Destination Manager roleyou are applying for:We look forward to hearing from you
