Job ID: ******* | Amazon Corporate Services Pty LtdAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain – and we're looking for talented people who want to help.You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply-chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles cf.You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.An inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion awaits.To be eligible for this role you will need to hold or be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.See link for specific details of suitability (AGSVa Eligibility).The Infrastructure Operations team is looking for Data Centre Technicians to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.Data Centre Technicians are the primary resolvers, troubleshooters, and solve a range of data centre infrastructure issues including, but not limited to: hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.If you like to use IT principles like computer architecture and the Open Systems Interconnection Model (OSI model) and apply them to finding solutions to problems, we'd like to meet you.Your work will help maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.Key ResponsibilitiesProblem SolvingMaintain a high level of system reliability by prioritising and resolving trouble tickets efficiently.Act as an escalation point and technical troubleshooter for all systems and problems.Deep-dive into Linux server issues.TechnicalTroubleshoot technical issues on various platforms ranging from systems through to power/mechanical.Remedy physical-layer outages, both systems and network.Recover physical power issues on racks.Participate in data-centre power & cooling events.OperationsMeet 24x7 on-call requirements and respond during shift rotations.Install and configure racks of hosts in line with internal SLAs.Triage and resolve trouble tickets for all devices in your region.Serve as the data-centre point of contact for all high-severity issues.Physically replace serverake and network device parts.Ensure correct rotation of parts & spares.Help define metrics to increase our customer uptime.Enforce Amazon's security best practices.Interact with third-party vendors & contractors.Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency.Project Management??Project ManagementParticipate in and deliver on a number of high impact small-to-mid-scale projects.Engage in team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.Help build the world's largest cloud infrastructure.Hiring & MentoringContribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process and candidate interviews.Share knowledge and help educate less technical staff on best practices related to all service-owner issues.A day in the lifeTake ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context.Maintain service-levelksi agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.Act proactively in the absence of direction or support.Drive effectiveness through process innovation.About the teamWe are experiencing rapid growth.Your onboarding will be dynamic in ???
