How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Sales Manager-Italy and Greece enables Italy JV sales team to meet or exceed agreed company revenue and market share targets with a primary focus on premium and corporate revenues. Designs and steers country sales strategy, tactics and execution in partnership with JV colleagues.
Drives both unmanaged and managed account revenue generation.
Deploys sales programs and tools for maximum local effect and designs local variants when needed.
Ensures consistent delivery of competitive tactical information to position Delta to its best advantage in managed sales
channels.
Guides country sales team (partner and own if applicable) comprised of sales representatives and sales support
personnel based in hard-wall or virtual offices.
Drives productivity to agreed standards and shepherds career development of direct reports and their teams.
Partners with regional manager to ensure optimal staffing deployment and best practice in compensation, motivation
and retention in country.
Integrates country staff with allied internal business units at corporate headquarters, regional and local level to
maximize revenue opportunities in all segments.
Ensures spending to plan and maximum return on investment. Coordinates and executes collateral efforts in
promotions and marketing.
Oversees country facilities, contracted services, and other supplier agreements.
Leads cooperation to deliver optimal customer service with Airport Customer Services, In-Flight Service, Product
Development, Customer Care and other passenger contact units.
Represents Delta with national industry, governmental and civic organizations.
Negotiates agreements with such organizations as appropriate to best position Delta in the marketplace.
Acts as Delta's corporate spokesperson for media communications where appropriate.
Actively participates in and drives JV commercial meetings.
Ensures JV Sales and Commercial Teams are knowledgeable about DL products and services.
Sets up / improves in country JV operating procedures in close cooperation with partners as and where needed to
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Strong airline sales experience, preferably in a JV environment Must be fluent in written and spoken English and Italian. Must be in possession of valid documentation to live and work in the EU at the time of application.Delta does not sponsor. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Sales, Business, Marketing or related field required. Must have at least 3 years industry analytical experience in a commercial or analytical discipline. Demonstrates aptitude for strong interpersonal relationships, business decision-making and driving results for key initiatives. Requires in-depth knowledge of industry marketing and operating practices. Must show a strong orientation toward sales. Self-motivation and proficiency in written and verbal communications are needed. Prefer proficient written and spoken.. Must have strong public speaking skills, including experience in making product presentations to decision makers and group forums. Must have negotiation expertise with corporations, travel agencies, tour operators, global alliances, and governmental entities. Must have experience in the design and development of detailed sales plans and detailed awareness of the various ticketing and payment programs available to customers. Must have experience in identifying and conducting joint promotional activities to enhance product exposure and increase revenues. Personnel-related skills including employee motivation, performance evaluations and interviewing techniques are desired. Must demonstrate time management and daily activity planning skills. Should have a professional knowledge of IATA and BSP working procedures. Should have the ability to build collaborative strategies around advertising, tariffs, routings schedules and equipment and other competitive components. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
