Purpose of Position: The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing indirect procurement such as Facilities management, Logistics, freights, IT, warehousing and other categories.
The role requires deep procurement and category knowledge, facilitating leading sourcing, contracting, negotiating, designing, and implementing strategic sourcing methodology, and partnering strategies across business functions.
The Procurement Specialist will drive procurement policies and procedures, sourcing requirements, products and services, and administrative requirements for procurement of goods and services.
Additionally, the position manages and monitors supplier performance, which includes initiating and managing ongoing projects to reduce overall procurement costs and improve supplier flexibility, delivery, and performance.
Description of Main Activities/Responsibilities: Research, recommend, implement, and manage supplier programs that result in cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
Provide support to stakeholders with acquisition strategies and sourcing & procurement options.
Design Procurement strategy and policy aligned with corporate vision and values.
Draft SOWs, managing communication with suppliers, Legal, Risk Management, and Business.
Analyze total procurement spend on an annual basis to ensure overall effectiveness and efficiency of spend.
Analyze current and potential suppliers, as well as develop strategic alliances with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, flexible lead times and high standards of quality.
Identify and resolve issues that promote enterprise compliance.
Track vendor performance through periodic financial reviews, product performance, customer satisfaction surveys, discrepancies, damage claims, contract compliance, etc.
Drive the strategy and yearly planning for the procurement department.
Drive and integrate frequent reviews with the business to ensure Procurement is meeting business needs.
May support some additional direct categories such as packaging materials.
Requirements: Education: Degree in Finance, Economics, or other business-related focus.
Professional Skills: Advanced knowledge of supply chain management, sourcing and/or procurement.
Designed and implemented category sourcing strategy.
Ability to apply advanced analytics and industry benchmarking techniques and tools.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in purchasing roles in international (multi-sites) companies.
Language Skills: English language knowledge is mandatory.
French/German language knowledge is highly appreciated.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel.
Behavioral Requirements: Team player, self-motivated, desire to learn and take on new challenges.
Achievement-oriented (timeline driven, detail-oriented, good planning, and negotiation skills).
Adaptable and flexible, must be able to adapt to fast-changing environments and build internal/external strategic relationships.
Other: Based in Gallarate.
Willingness to travel across EU sites (max 10/20% of the time).
