Senior Business Development Manager - Energy StorageWärtsilä Energy leads the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future.

The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Italy.What you will be doingWe are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to work within Italy and our European growth markets.
You will be accountable for leading energy Storage Sales for cross-functional teams.
You will have a leading role to ensure we have predictable and profitable sales, thus meaning that sales margins - with the right pricing strategies and accurate cost estimations - are in favour of Wärtsilä, and project execution is predictable.You will be reporting to the Area Sales Director.As a Senior Business Development Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:Lead energy storage sales opportunitiesEnsure qualitative sales and proper sales margins all the way to the project execution.Ensure correct pricing strategies and accurate cost estimationsLead the large stakeholder group and project sales team towards the goalsUtilise SOP data as a base when assessing the correct cost estimations and schedulesEnsure tenders and requirements are understood in detail within the project sales team and high-quality tenders are preparedEnsure risks are evaluated correctlyEnsure necessary internal reviews are conducted and acceptances receivedEnsure Wärtsilä contracting policies are followed and proper contract terms are achievedLead the contract negotiations and contracting process.
Prepare winning sales negotiation strategy.Manage and maintain key account customer relationships.Manage, follow up and report the progress of sales project and CRM (Salesforce) data accuracyEnsure proper sales documentation and closing the dealEnsure sales project is properly transferred to project executionTo be successful in this role, we expect you to have:10 yrs.

in the utility-scale renewable energy industry, with a strong preference toward candidates with prior battery energy storage experiencePromotes and never sacrifices safetyIs a senior sales leader with a strong track record of leading high-performing cross-functional teams and is solution orientatedHas a strong track record of negotiating complex sales projectsContractual and risk management understandingVisible influencing and communications skills especially when working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersLeads by example and enables collaboration across organisationsBroad understanding of energy storage business, solutions, and future market outlookHas commercial and customer mindset combined with a structural approachOutstanding team player and excellent coaching skillsDrives results with excellent skills in planning and leading the change and executionInspires people to take actions towards the future goalsAppreciates diversity and is able to build psychological safety and inclusion to the organisationFluent in Italian is requiredBased in ItalySpanish, German or French language is also a preferenceReadiness to travelYour success will be measured bySuccessful project sales with end-to-end profitabilitySales team engagement customer satisfactionOrder intake, net sales profitability(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world.
