Job Description The Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) Care Manager's main responsibility is to drive patient identification and market development for SMA by creating territory, account, and customer strategies to achieve area sales, market share, and profit targets for their territory; furthermore, by effectively maintaining relationships with physicians and treatment clinics to properly educate on Nusinersen and help remove barriers to facilitate healthcare provider decisions. The NMD Care Manager provides scientific information to HCPs in accordance with the country laws.

The NMD Care Manager is accountable for the success of Nusinersen in the assigned accounts by working in partnership with marketing, logistics support, internal/field market access, and medical colleagues to create value for patients and other relevant stakeholders within the accounts to ensure long-term growth in alignment with Biogen's code of conduct and the strictest ethical, compliance, and legal standards.

Focal to the success, the NMD Care Manager remit will be:

Identification of the patient/doctor landscape and of the drivers of rare diseases/SMA treatment decisions. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements to assure the right guardrails are in place. Development and execution of an effective business plan for maximizing territory sales ensuring that stakeholder needs are being met. Oversight on logistics that should be in place to assure availability of Nusinersen, cross-functionally with field market access and field medical. Preparation of own individual account plans and coordination of cross-functional work on strategic account/regional plans on how to approach customers, achieve goals, and maintain relationships in order to maximize Nusinersen use. Work across a large cross-functional team to develop SMA centers of excellence (e.g., developing work processes & communication streams) to ensure patients have access to Nusinersen and troubleshoot any challenges. Collection and internal sharing of information useful to identify, segment, profile national key accounts – e.g., Hospitals, purchase groups, guideline providers, etc. Acquisition of an intimate knowledge of the accounts stakeholders' priorities and decision-making processes (patient identification/selection, choice of therapeutic options, budget allocation, and care coordination, business needs, drivers, and barriers for Nusinersen utilization). Dedication to building up, strengthening, and ensuring a long-term customer relationship with the accounts' key stakeholders responsible for SMA care delivery and funding of treatment, ensuring a favorable environment for Nusinersen via regular dialog with key stakeholders. Effective allocation of resources assigned to support territory activities. Qualifications 4+ years of sales experience in the hospital/academic medical center/biotech industry High degree of learning agility to learn/understand Nusinersen administration and neuromuscular diseases. Ability to deal with ambiguity and handle risk and uncertainty Previous experience in a sales team that was a part of a multifunctional team to address patient/caregiver needs Preferred experience in rare diseases Availability to travel for a minimum of 60% of the working time Understanding and confidence in speaking English language in addition to fluency in the local market language Bachelor/master's degree in science (according to local legislation) Additional Information Why Biogen?
