RINA is currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join its team within the Aerospace & Defence Division.

Objective

This position is dedicated to ensuring the quality, dependability, and performance of our software solutions through comprehensive testing and validation processes. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and various stakeholders to design and implement test cases that verify software functionality and performance. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in software testing and verification methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities

Development of Testing Equipment:

Design, install, configure, and validate the software of testing equipment based on specified requirements.

Test Planning and Strategy:
- Create detailed test cases and scripts aligned with requirements and design specifications.
Testing Execution:
- Conduct functional, regression, performance, and system integration tests.
- Perform both manual and automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in software behavior.

Validation Activities:
- Confirm software functionality against established requirements, user needs, and intended use cases.
- Execute usability testing to ensure user interface consistency and intuitiveness.
Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test descriptions, reports, and summaries.
- Communicate test results effectively to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and efficiency within the software testing lifecycle.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with software developers and cross-functional teams to address issues and verify bug resolutions.
- Provide updates on testing progress and results to project stakeholders.

Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required; a Master's Degree in Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python) for testing purposes and implementation of testing equipment.
The following skills are advantageous:

Experience with LabWindows/CVI and NI TestStand framework.

Familiarity with measurement instruments such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, RF networks, and power supplies.

Ability to configure and control measurement instruments via SCPI commands.
