Position Overview

The Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement for the Internal Audit, Risk, and Internal Controls (IARIC) function is responsible for establishing and overseeing the IARIC quality strategy and framework. This role involves managing the IARIC development portfolio, leading cross-functional IARIC initiatives, and directing the competence and professional development activities within the IARIC team. Additionally, this position is accountable for the IARIC communication strategy and framework.

Key Responsibilities:

IARIC Quality Strategy and Framework: Develops and implements the IARIC quality strategy, ensuring quality is integrated into daily IARIC operations and processes in collaboration with IARIC teams. Monitors and reports on IARIC quality metrics as part of the KPI framework.

IARIC Development Portfolio: Oversees the IARIC development portfolio, which includes team-specific improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects. Implements efficient project methodologies to support IARIC teams in managing projects while ensuring adherence to budget constraints.

Cross-Functional IARIC Projects: Serves as the primary owner of cross-functional IARIC projects that engage multiple teams. Assigns responsibilities to relevant IARIC teams and leaders, manages relationships with project consultants and vendors, and ensures effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Competence and People Development Framework: Collaborates with the Head of IARIC and other leaders to define a comprehensive competence portfolio across IARIC teams, aligned with essential Finance and Hitachi Energy competencies. Identifies future competence needs and establishes a roadmap for development.

Communication Strategy and Framework: Develops and manages the IARIC communication strategy in close partnership with Finance and Hitachi Energy Communications.

Leads the IARIC Quality and Continuous Improvement team, fostering an inclusive environment. Provides coaching, development, and strategic planning for team growth.

Upholds core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.

Required Competencies and Knowledge:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English with strong presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and change management skills, with an openness to diverse perspectives while facilitating effective solutions.
  • Proven expertise in implementing quality development, portfolio management, and project management across various environments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, engaging cross-team collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.

Required Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in quality management, development programs, portfolio management, or project management, with a focus on people and communication development.
  • Experience in engaging with senior management and stakeholders within a matrix organization, with a proven track record of building strong relationships across global functions.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience leading teams under pressure in dynamic environments.
  • Background in large, fast-paced international organizations, familiar with remote work and virtual collaboration.
