We are seeking a Global Media Relations Manager to enhance our Global Communications Team.

Objective

The Global Media Relations Manager plays a pivotal role within the Global Communication department, ensuring that the esteemed reputation of Angelini Pharma is upheld among key stakeholders and the public on a global and European scale. This is accomplished by disseminating accurate information at both corporate and operational levels while mitigating the effects of any negative or misleading news concerning the organization. The Global Media Relations Manager is responsible for nurturing and managing relationships with media outlets to align with the purpose, vision, and mission of Angelini Pharma, while also supporting the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team in their media interactions. Additionally, this role involves coordinating media relations in the countries where Angelini Pharma operates, in collaboration with local and international communication teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining the esteemed reputation of Angelini Pharma:
  • Crafting written materials such as press releases, Q&A documents, opinion pieces, media standby statements, and fact sheets on corporate and brand matters as necessary.
  • Establishing relationships with influential media contacts at both global and European levels, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Identifying opportunities to proactively present brand and corporate narratives through various media channels, including press conferences.
Overseeing crisis communication:
  • Updating the media crisis management strategy and guidelines.
  • Assisting in the formulation and execution of the crisis management strategy concerning media relations.
  • Producing written materials such as issue statements, Q&A documents, and briefings for leadership regarding media communications.
  • Managing relationships with key media contacts to ensure accurate information dissemination.
Facilitating scientific communication:
  • Creating written materials including press releases, Q&A documents, and fact sheets related to product news, business collaborations, new indications, and approval processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to proactively share brand stories through media outlets and social media, in conjunction with the owned media team.
  • Coordinating media presence at major congresses and other relevant scientific events.
  • Engaging with medical, regulatory, and access teams to identify potential studies for communication.
Supporting executive communication:
  • Providing and promoting global guidelines for media relations.
  • Organizing media training sessions and briefings as needed.
  • Assisting in the development of opinion pieces, articles, and interviews.

Performance Indicators:

Number of media mentions at the European level.Quality of media coverage (Tier 1).Feedback from the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.Input from the medical department.

Required Skills:

8-10 years of experience in global media relations.Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical media at the European level.8-10 years of demonstrated experience in crisis management.Fluency in English.Strong teamwork orientation.
