The Control & Resilience Business Partner plays a crucial role in ensuring that ING effectively manages all non-financial risks while delivering exceptional customer experiences. This position is integral to providing a comprehensive, process-oriented perspective on risks and controls, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

The Control & Resilience team is tasked with the consistent and efficient application of the Non-Financial Risk framework throughout the organization. This involves offering insights into the control environment's status, prioritizing risk mitigation efforts, and demonstrating compliance to both internal and external stakeholders. The role also supports the design and execution of effective controls.

As a member of the ODCR Team, the selected candidate will assist in evaluating end-to-end business processes, identifying risks in accordance with established policies and guidelines, and designing and assessing mitigating controls. Additionally, tracking and reporting identified gaps to management will be a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

The Control & Resilience Business Partner is responsible for fostering a strong understanding of risk ownership and management across the organization through various activities:

  • Collaborating with Business Owners to assess and document inherent and residual risks in products, processes, and applications, ensuring compliance with the Product Approval Review Process (PARP).
  • Assisting Business Owners in Risk Identification Assessment activities and monitoring related mitigative actions.
  • Supporting the design of process controls with a focus on effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Aiding Business & Control Owners in conducting gap analyses and monitoring new global policies, control standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinating with Issue Owners to ensure timely definition of Issues and Events.
  • Collaborating with Sourcing Gatekeepers to ensure that Contract Managers effectively monitor and manage risks associated with their sourcing arrangements.
  • Working with the Operational & Resilience team to ensure that Process Owners accurately manage their processes and services in line with Operational Resilience requirements.
  • Providing Business Owners with a comprehensive view and advice on the effectiveness and efficiency of the risk control environment across various value chains, processes, policies, and risk categories.
  • Cooperating with other departmental areas to facilitate the unified development of an overarching framework that encompasses processes, risk and control logs, and internal documentation.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate for the Control & Resilience Business Partner role should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficient in verbal and written English.
  • Strong networking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
  • Familiarity with risk and control environments, including the identification, definition, assessment, and mitigation of control gaps.
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on achieving objectives within strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility, integration, and facilitation skills, along with a proactive attitude.
