We are seeking a skilled Senior Staff Engineer to join our team at EU077 Vishay Semiconductor Italiana S.p.A.

Vishay manufactures a portfolio of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components used in various markets, including automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will work with our experienced team to develop integrated circuits at the heart of modern power systems. Your role will involve collaborating with marketing and other engineering teams to understand marketing requirements and translate them into product specifications.

You will work closely with design engineers to ensure products deliver market-leading performance at both silicon and system levels. A broad range of industry experience is desired, but specific experience in power management products for high-performance computing, automotive, industrial, or networking applications is most valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product definition of new power management solutions to ensure their success in the market.
  • Collaborate with marketing and leading customers to understand system requirements.
  • Translate marketing and system requirements into product specifications and corresponding applications validation plans for each product.
  • Work closely with design, marketing, product, and test engineering teams to ensure product requirements and application operating conditions are understood by all team members.
  • Responsible for design and implementation of applications evaluation boards and system boards.
  • Write and publish application notes and white papers related to our products to assist with their market promotions.
  • Assist with design-in and system-level validations on key customer programs.

Requirements:

  • PhD or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • 15+ year experience in applications engineering, product definition, or designing power management solutions.
  • Significant experience working directly with customers in high-performance computing, industrial, automotive, and infrastructure markets.
  • Experience and knowledge of power conversion products and topologies.
  • Strong command of simulation and modeling tools such as Simplis, Matlab, Cadence, etc.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and support and mentor less-experienced team members.
