About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Operations Engineer to join our team at Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, including the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, including generators, UPS, and electrical distribution panels.
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility and rack-level events.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Manage external vendors and ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards.
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
Requirements
  • Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field with practical and theoretical knowledge in key electrical competencies, and/or knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Ability to draft accurate support procedures, compile system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
  • Driving license valid in Italy and willingness to travel between data center sites, and internationally if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities or Mission Critical Plants/Production facilities.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE); Project Management experience.
  • Solid IT skills; experience and knowledge of MS Office suite.
