At the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), we are dedicated to advancing human-centered science and technology to address significant societal challenges. Our headquarters in Genoa is interconnected with multiple centers across Italy and two locations in the United States, providing a truly interdisciplinary research environment.

YOUR TEAM

You will collaborate within a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including biomedical, mechanical, automation, and electrical engineers, computational scientists, and IT specialists. Together, we engage in research under the EU project Ergo Lean GA.

The focus of our research is on developing and implementing innovative algorithms for the intelligent and adaptive control of collaborative robots, responding to the dynamic states of human operators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct both theoretical and practical research.
  • Contribute to ongoing laboratory projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and support the lab's general activities.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Master's degree with a solid foundation in areas such as collaborative robot planning and control, applied machine learning, physical human-robot interaction, and human modeling.
  • Proficient in C++ and Python programming languages.
  • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS).
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • A record of published research.
  • Ability to effectively report, organize, and publish research findings.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
