Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales Grocery Team in Italy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for onboarding and partnering with top Grocery Retailers to drive growth and revenue for Deliveroo.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, with a strong understanding of the Grocery and Retail industries. You will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy to identify and secure new partnerships, as well as managing and growing existing relationships.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be working closely with our commercial team to drive business growth and revenue. You will be responsible for:
- Pitching and closing grocery partnerships with key players in the territory
- Managing a portfolio of leads to ensure strong conversion rates and exceed ambitious volume and quality targets
- Leading the end-to-end sales cycle with potential grocery partners through strategic negotiations and making attractive offers that achieve business objectives
- Ensuring a smooth and complete integration process when bringing a partner on board, from registration to operational launch and generating sales
- Supporting our wider commercial team with ad-hoc strategic initiatives like field pitch days, marketing roll-outs, and cross-functional projects

Requirements:
- 5-6 years of B2B sales experience in related fields such as groceries/retail or FMCG
- Self-driven with a proven sales record and an appetite for scaling your portfolio
- Strong communication skills whether it be face-to-face, through phone or email
- Perseverance and grit – you're not afraid of rejection
- Competitiveness – you'll be working within a highly efficient team who like to win (as individuals and together)
