Satellite & Ground Segment Engineer (Sentinel-3) - Operations Performance Monitoring

Job Overview
Serco is seeking a skilled Ground Segment Engineer to join our team in supporting the Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth orchestration of ground segment data flow, monitoring performance, and coordinating with various stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze ground segment data flow to ensure completeness and timeliness.
- Coordinate with CSC services and data processors to ensure seamless communication and alignment with expected outcomes.
- Process and manage anomaly and maintenance reports, coordinating with involved entities until resolution.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring smooth communication and alignment between client expectations and services provided.
- Support the DEV team in monitoring and reporting requirements, preparing weekly and quarterly reports, and attending progress meetings and anomaly review boards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expertise in performance monitoring and reporting, with ability to track, analyze, and report mission performance trends.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to interpret and respond to complex mission data.
- Proven experience in coordinating operations involving multiple services, entities, and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage complex workflows and ensure seamless collaboration between involved teams.
Additional Skills
- Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of Copernicus Sentinel-3 mission and ground segment end-to-end data flow.
- Experience in monitoring and reporting mission performance trends, data analysis, and ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
