Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Produce Department Manager in leading the team and ensuring the department runs smoothly.
  • Reinforce Festival culture, customer service, and performance expectations to all Produce associates.
  • Train new Produce associates and re-train as necessary to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
  • Conduct performance reviews of Produce associates and provide feedback to help them improve.
  • Document any violations of company policies or procedures by Produce associates and take corrective action as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to all Produce department associates to help them succeed in their roles.
  • Ensure all department standards are being met in the Produce department.
  • Monitor sales floor and back stock conditions and take action to correct any areas of opportunity.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure that all products are properly priced.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with the Store Director, Produce Manager, and other Department Managers to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and assist them with finding items.
  • Take orders and special requests from guests and answer the telephone in a professional manner.
  • Address any guest concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist all department associates with their daily responsibilities and lead by example.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining food safety logs and ensuring that all quality standards are being met.
  • Ensure that all timekeeping accuracy is maintained and communicate any issues to HR.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand and apply leadership principles and motivate a team of individuals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of technology and the use of a computer.
  • Thorough knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
  • Must have WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival will pay for certification if not already obtained).
