Job Summary

Italgas is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability and Social Impact Manager to join its team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of the company's sustainability strategy and reporting practice, with a focus on social impacts and human rights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor evolving trends and best practices in sustainability and social responsibility, and assess their potential impact on the company and its value chain.
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities to follow sustainability best practices and contribute to the achievement of Italgas' Sustainable Value Creation Plan.
  • Monitor and facilitate specific activities and projects across the environmental and social dimension, maximizing social value of internal/external initiatives.
  • Collect, disclose, and monitor non-financial reporting data, and stay up-to-date with regulatory and corporate trends.
  • Serve as a key internal interface with Group Companies and other Functions, driving enhanced performance of Italgas in key indices and overseeing data collection and presentation.
  • Support the external assurance process of non-financial reporting, identifying improvements and ensuring corporate reporting is accurate and in line with legislative requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor sustainability KPIs and report performance to senior management, and assist in the implementation of social programs, including a structured involvement of the supply chain.
  • Understand the regulatory landscape on social issues and human rights, and interact with stakeholders to contribute to the progressive embedding of social topics and related impacts across all business areas and territories.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent education in Environmental Engineering, Social Science, Management, Renewable Energy, or Sustainability.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, and social issues on a corporate level, or in a consulting company.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of industry is a strong asset, or relevant experience/knowledge in other highly regulated industries/sectors.
  • A thorough understanding of the sustainability reporting landscape, prior direct responsibility for managing sustainability topics within the organization.
  • Significant experience in non-financial reporting, sustainability impacts evaluation, and ESG Due Diligence.
  • Working knowledge in stakeholder engagement, materiality analysis, benchmarking, and business case development.
  • Deep technical expertise and a demonstrated understanding of best-practice Corporate Reporting programs.
  • Good knowledge in circular economy and other sustainable concepts.
  • Solid knowledge in social issues and human rights and in sustainability within a corporate environment.
  • Very strong data management and analytical skills and experience with reporting tools.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, delivering high quality work on time and to budget.
  • Fluency in English.
