Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Operations Leader to join our team at CAE. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our training center in Rome, Italy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technical personnel and be responsible for training and performance reviews.
  • Accountable for the maintenance of the aviation training facility and training equipment.
  • Manage local IT and logistics activities for the overall operations.
  • Coordinate delivery and qualification of new simulators and training devices.
  • Assure the highest level of customer service is provided at all times.
  • Proactively develop relationships with aviation regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Oversee inventory management and quality assurance programs.
  • Responsible for the general and day-to-day maintenance of the facility.
  • Work closely with customer services and training delivery teams to ensure best customer service and training experience.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to ensure KPIs are met.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or aviation-related field.
  • At least 8 years of FSTD technical experience, including 5 years on CAE equipment.
  • 3 years in a supervisory position in a FSTD technical support environment.
  • Must have the right to work within the EU.
  • Aptitude to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to make quality and timely decisions on technical and personnel matters.
  • Proven ability to create and foster a teamwork environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills to motivate and develop direct reports.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, with knowledge of Italian beneficial.
  • Highly customer-oriented with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to prepare work plans and allocate resources to meet operational objectives.
  • Solid technical background and familiarity with FSTD technical issues.
  • Vast knowledge of various aircraft types, including commercial jetliners.
  • Superior understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
  • Advanced understanding of commercial aviation training.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
