Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Simulator Technician to join our team at CAE Inc. as a Technical Operations Lead. This is a key role that will support all training center operations activities to provide a smooth, efficient, and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Operations
    • Support all technical and operational aspects of the Flight Simulator Training Devices and Cabin Crew Training Devices.
    • Attend flight crew and maintenance calls, perform daily readiness, and act as the technical lead during flyouts.
    • Perform and manage scheduled preventative maintenances, as well as running and analyzing Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
  • Issue Resolution
    • Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues and AOGs.
    • Suggest and perform hardware design, refurbishment, and modifications as deemed required.
  • Leadership and Development
    • Provide on-the-job technical training to other technicians to foster the professional development of all personnel.
    • Assume the role of technical expert for multiple simulator systems.
    • Support the Technical Operations Leader in the assignment of daily tasks and special projects.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Assure, maintain, and support the FSTD operations Management System.
    • Implement and adopt processes and procedures as deemed required.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation Field.
    • At least 6 to 8 years of related work experience.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken, and written.
    • Knowledge of the Italian language would be preferable and beneficial in support of the operations.
    • Highly customer-oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer.
    • Advanced working knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
    • In-depth technical background (Hardware and Software) and familiarity with FSTD technical issues.
    • Vast knowledge of various aircraft types, including Commercial Jetliners (Airbus family).
    • Advanced understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
    • Advanced understanding of Commercial Aviation training.
    • In-depth knowledge of local & International (EASA, ENAC, etc.) regulations.
