The Sales Engineer position is a dynamic role within the Sales & Marketing Department, reporting directly to the Director of Global Sales. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for advancing the Sales & Strategic Initiatives for our Capital Equipment Industries globally.

  1. Develop strong customer relationships and effectively communicate with customers, managers, and staff to identify and resolve issues and opportunities.



    • Deliver timely follow-up and prioritize communication.
    • Develop strategic plans and collaborate with local management to drive growth.
    • Ensure market position is attained and/or maintained in assigned territories.
    • Nurture relationships with strategic customer personnel.
    • Regularly meet with prime customers (Domestic and International).


  2. Promote "Bartell" products and services by maintaining product knowledge and performing sales and support activities.



    • Prepare sales presentations and quotations.
    • Support aftermarket service and parts sales.
    • Represent the company at trade shows as needed.


  3. Identify individual order opportunities for "Bartell" products and services by developing and executing market strategies.



    • Determine customer goals and objectives.
    • Develop a full understanding of customer requirements.
    • Assist in collecting general marketing information.
    • Develop a global account strategy to maximize "Bartell's" opportunities.


  4. Convert order opportunities into sales orders by developing and implementing action plans.



    • Arrange project closure meetings and conduct project negotiations.
    • Interface with internal departments to ensure order profiles are understood prior to acceptance.


  5. Transfer customer requirements to internal departments.



    • Develop complete and accurate equipment specifications per ISO with the customer.
    • Coordinate project information between the customer and internal departments.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:



  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a manufacturing-related field.
  • Engineering background or relevant experience.
  • Commercial awareness and negotiating skills.
  • General market knowledge and a contact base.
  • Total product awareness of "Bartell" products.
  • Prior experience in extensive traveling, including international visits, for extended periods.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Dynamics (365).

Travel requirements: up to 50%
