Job Title: Datacenter Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Technician to join our team at Oracle. As a Datacenter Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our data centre environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical liaison between technology teams and the data centre environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems to the appropriate resolver groups.
  • Create and maintain documentation on technologies supported.
  • Understand all aspects of equipment supported, including data centre design, electrical and cooling plant operation, airflow management, and structured cabling.
  • Provide client-facing support and service, interacting professionally with diverse groups of customers and staff.
  • Work productively in remote cross-functional teams or independently as an individual.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Recent graduates or gap year students encouraged to apply, with a willingness to learn on the job.
  • Experience in IT infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200-1000+ server systems).
  • Experience in data centre M&E equipment, including commissioning of new racks and structured cabling installation.
  • Demonstrated examples of a drive to dig into system or process details to solve customer problems.
  • Experience working in mission-critical operations environments.
  • Ability to speak confidently and communicate clearly in a virtual environment.
  • Strong adherence to process and being a process champion.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).

Additional Information:

This role involves on-shift rotation, including standby, and requires a valid driving license. The position has a physical component, requiring the ability to lift up to 25 kg and may involve working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
