What you'll need to have
A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in property development, preferably within large-scale retail or investment sectors.
Extensive background (at least 10 years) in negotiating contracts with landowners, landlords, and other stakeholders.
Proven experience in engaging with governmental bodies.
Strong understanding of urban planning and the permitting landscape.
Relevant academic qualifications in law, urban planning, architecture, or engineering.
Financial Oversight:
Proficiency in planning, organizing, and managing financial resources effectively.
Risk Assessment:
Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks in a business context.
Project Coordination:
Expertise in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and concluding projects.
Change Leadership:
Skill in developing and implementing change initiatives while managing stakeholder expectations.
Real Estate Expertise:
Comprehensive knowledge of the entire process from land scouting, acquisition, zoning, planning, development, to permitting.
Sustainable Development:
Ability to evaluate sites for sustainability compliance and integrate sustainability considerations into the site selection process.
Knowledge of real estate transactions, including deal structuring, permit acquisition, and securing properties for diverse business needs.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams effectively.
Innovation Facilitation:
Encourages creative thinking and innovative solutions that add value.
Performance Management:
Provides constructive feedback and guidance to enhance individual and team performance.
Relationship Management:

What you'll be doing day to day
Oversee the identification and acquisition of properties aligned with the real estate strategy of the organization, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, sustainable, and innovative property solutions that cater to business needs.
Manage and minimize costs and risks associated with property acquisition, zoning, planning, permitting, valuation, and operational aspects of properties;Coordinate the engagement of external consultants and stakeholders essential for real estate development tasks;
Support the formulation, development, and implementation of internal strategies and processes pertinent to the role;
Establish and nurture relationships with local authorities and communities, proactively engaging them to garner support for development, planning, and permitting of business operations such as retail units, large property projects, logistics facilities, shopping centers, and mixed-use developments;
Supervise the approval and execution of all public infrastructure, utilities, and other off-site enhancements related to new and existing properties;
Collaborate with internal departments, real estate partners, and local authorities to finalize projects, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and facilitating the seamless handover of completed projects along with necessary documentation.
