Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Manager to join our team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. As a Data Manager, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructures and procedures for genomic data management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including scientists, IT managers, and legal experts, to identify international best practices for Research Data Management in the genomics domain.
  • Establish protocols for genomic data organization, storage, and transfer from/to the Center of Genomic Science (CGS-Milan) and other IIT centers.
  • Contribute to the development of the Italian Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) in collaboration with other data professionals and researchers in the GDI consortium.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, genomics, or physics.
  • Understanding of genomic/bioinformatics research processes and interest in learning principles of Research Data Management, FAIR data, and Open Science.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people from different fields.
  • Good to excellent command of English.
