About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Specialist to join our team at Mettler Toledo. As a key member of our technical sales team, you will be responsible for developing strong application knowledge and serving as a recognized expert for in-situ reaction monitoring technology, process optimization, and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Application Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our Reaction Engineering products and their applications in the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and high-value chemicals markets.
  • Technical Sales Support: Provide consultative-based technical selling support for our Reaction Engineering product line, identifying new opportunities and performing application feasibility tests (AFTs) to support technical sales opportunity development.
  • Application Solutions: Identify and develop application solutions that provide high value to our customers in the pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and high-value chemicals markets.
  • Technical Presentations: Create and present technical papers on important applications at key industry seminars, conferences, and symposiums.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop strong technical product knowledge as well as a working knowledge of competitive and complementary technologies and solutions.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Direct the transfer of knowledge and data from application feasibility studies, industrial and academic applications, and technical journals and publications to product management for development.
  • Customer Support: Provide customer support and development, including on-site training, technical support, and application feasibility studies and pre/post-sale support.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years industry experience as an organic chemist, spectroscopist, or process development chemist.
  • Skills: Experience with organic chemistry, knowledge of reaction calorimetry, and experience in process development, Process Analytical technology, pharmaceutical industry, specialty chemicals, or industrial chemical manufacturing preferred.
  • Communication: Open and effective communication style, excellent public presentation skills, strong people skills, cross-organizational teamwork, and the ability to interact with and influence the direction of key opinion leaders in the industry.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel in Europe up to 60% of the time.
