Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Team Leader to join our team at BDP International. As a key member of our ocean export team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to achieve exceptional results and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement team objectives and targets, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor team performance and activity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and colleagues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, identifying client needs and providing feedback on job success.
  • Write and present weekly and monthly reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Hold regular team meetings, discussing task delegation and reviewing issues.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to set quarterly targets and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively, encouraging respect and open communication within the team.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new team members.
  • Perform auditing and quality checking to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
  • Handle customer and internal escalations, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Monitor attendance and provide support to team members as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of any discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in ocean export, preferably with a multinational freight forwarder.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role, with a focus on customer service and freight forwarding.
  • Technical knowledge of ocean export is essential.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures.
  • Fluent English (oral and written) and negotiation skills.
