Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Officer to join our team at the Us Department Of Defense Education Activity. As an Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, providing support to staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage administrative tasks, including maintaining records, preparing reports, and coordinating meetings.
  • Provide support to staff, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and resolving issues.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of our office, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Develop and implement administrative procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience in administrative support, including managing an annual budget, utilizing information systems to gather data, and advising employees on administrative matters.
  • PhD or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.

Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are not considered Ordinarily Resident under the applicable Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). Applicants who have family members with special medical needs should ensure that prior to accepting a position overseas their family members' medical needs can be met.

Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Status candidates subject to the 5 year overseas rotation, who are currently overseas, must have enough time to meet the initial tour stated in the job announcement.

Selectees initially recruited from the United States may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees recruited outside the U.S. will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire.

The initial length of this overseas tour is 36 months.
