Medical Affairs Scientist Line Manager in Inflammation & Immunology (I&I)

The Medical Affairs team within Specialty Care (SC) is composed of professionals who possess extensive expertise in their therapeutic domains and the associated medicinal products. Healthcare providers and stakeholders regard them as knowledgeable peers and collaborative partners. Our role in Specialty Care Medical Affairs is to deliver precise and clinically pertinent information regarding our products, aiding healthcare professionals in making informed treatment choices through data generation, dissemination, and peer interactions.

Pfizer is seeking a dedicated and innovative Medical Affairs Scientist (MAS) Line Manager for the Inflammation & Immunology (I&I) sector within the Specialty Care Department.

This position is pivotal in fostering scientific advancement within our I&I Therapeutic Areas (TA), aligning with the overarching goals of the organization.

The I&I MAS Line Manager will report directly to the Specialty Care Medical Lead in Italy.

Why Your Role Matters

The I&I MAS Line Manager will be an integral part of the I&I Medical Team, overseeing the coordination of Medical Affairs Scientists across Dermatology, Rheumatology, and Gastroenterology TAs. This role involves establishing direct relationships with healthcare professionals and research institutions in Italy, aimed at enhancing collaborative efforts to improve patient health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Set strategic and impactful objectives for the team in alignment with company goals and Medical Affairs strategies. Develop and execute the M2M action plan in accordance with local and global Medical Affairs strategies. Coordinate team support for scientific congresses and satellite symposia, including attendance and follow-up activities, as well as the review of promotional materials. Manage budget responsibilities, including supervision of expense reports and medical product budgets. Oversee medical activities at the national level in relation to the TA strategy. Facilitate consulting processes within the team and across relevant functions in the headquarters. Provide scientific and medical data to leading healthcare professionals to support decision-making by institutions and policymakers. Collaborate with clinical operations to select research sites in accordance with Pfizer's standard operating procedures and policies.

What You Bring to the Role

A degree in Medicine is required. Strongly preferred: Relevant cross-TA experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience in clinical research is highly desirable. Team leadership experience is preferred. Proven scientific and technical expertise, including management of clinical studies and advisory boards. Project management skills are essential. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional colleagues in a matrix environment. Proficiency in English and the local language is required.
